This year's mission trip dates:
July 12-July 21, 2008

Canyon de Chelly - National Monument

2005 marked the 14th trip to Arizona and the Navajo Reservation for the Arizona Mission Team. The team consists of several individuals from Muncie, Indiana, and its surrounding areas. Over the years team members have come and gone - following the calling God has put on their hearts. However, at least two current team members have been a part of this mission for over 10 years.

Throughout the years the team has helped with everything from hanging dry-wall, building furniture, cleaning-up after fires, to digging a septic system for a church providing them with indoor plumbing and running water.

Last year our group, for the first time in several years, had the opportunity to spend some one-on-one time with the kids/youth. We had a blast building kites (thanks to the
Hoosier Kite Society ) and FPG-9 s (Foam Plate Gliders made out of 9-inch foam plates). And it was a sure sign the kids had fun when the first thing they did - after we dropped them off at their housing additions - was get that kite back in the air!

Over the years we have made and nurtured many valuable relationships. There is quite a bit of mistrust on the reservation of being a "once-a-year-project". Thankfully being able to travel to the reservation on a regular basis the team has met many Navajos they consider dear friends.

The team previously received partial funding from a local Indiana church. However, due to necessary budget cuts we are now completely self-funded. Now more than ever, we are learning to rely on God to provide us with the necessary resources so that we can continue doing the mission He called us to do. The Arizona Mission Team is committed to continue their calling in making a difference in the lives of our Navajo family.
